I was a scared and worried little kid for as long as I can remember.
Bedtime was the hardest part. But my father was always there — quiet and steady, sitting beside me until the world felt small enough to fall asleep in. His calm became my calm. At eight, a psychologist gave me real tools. Meditation designed for a child's nervous system. It changed everything.
When I had my daughter, I wanted to give her the same gift. I looked for something screen free that could teach a child to find their own calm. It didn't exist.
My father died suddenly in 2018. I started building Zenimal that same year. Two trips to the factories in Shenzhen. Recording sessions in LA. I narrated all of the first meditations myself. The first 5,000 Zenimals arrived at my house in boxes.
We launched in November 2019. By May 2020 we were inside a children's hospital.
Today, over 90,000 families trust Zenimal. For every purchase, we donate companions to children who need them most. That's not a campaign. It's how we've always worked.
I still live in Southern California with my two kids. I still record the meditations. And I still believe the moment before sleep is when children are most open — to connection, to calm, to being carried somewhere safe.
Take a breath. We've got this.
