Every Zenimal companion comes with a 30-night home trial. Send it back within 30 nights of delivery and we refund the companion. A flat $6 covers return shipping and refurbishing. Start the return in our return portal and pack it in the original box with the cable and guide.

Memory cards and open box companions are final sale. Cards that came in a bundle can be returned with the whole bundle. Cases, shells and cables can be returned unused within 30 days.

We replace companions that turn out to be defective. For a different companion or color, return the first one through the portal and order the one you want.

Zenimal Kids+ is the simplest Zenimal, for ages 3 to 12: ready out of the box, with new tracks on memory cards. Zenimal Connect is for ages 3 to 12 and adds a color nightlight, your own recorded voice and new tracks through the app. Zenimal+ is for ages 12 and up.

No. There is no screen, no camera and no microphone on any Zenimal. Press a button and listen.

No. Zenimal Kids+ and Zenimal+ work fully offline, with their sound libraries on memory cards. Zenimal Connect works on its own too; wifi is only used when a parent uses the app to load tracks or record their voice.

No. Keep it away from water. The silicone shell comes off and can go in the dishwasher; wipe the companion with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry before charging.

Hold the power button for 3 seconds. A singing bowl sound confirms it. After a meditation ends, it goes to sleep on its own about 5 minutes later to save battery.

Nine on the shell: stillness, breath, inspiration, relaxation, sleep, gratitude, empathy, awareness and restoration. Preloaded tracks run 3 to 15 minutes. Three more memory cards come in the box, and more are sold separately.

Each card holds nine tracks, one per button. To swap: turn the companion off, flip up the left side of the silicone shell, press the card in with a fingernail so it springs out, push the new card in until it clicks all the way in, fold the shell back down and turn it on. All memory cards. Memory cards don't work in Zenimal Connect; it gets new tracks through the app.

About 7 hours of listening per charge. It charges in about 3 hours with the included Micro-USB cable and works while plugged in. When the battery is under 10%, the light flashes red for 15 seconds at power-on.

Check the bottom of your Zenimal. A 1.0 reads zen101trtl; a 2.0 reads Zenimal+. Every Zenimal sold after May 6, 2021 is a 2.0. Some memory cards work only with 2.0; each card page says which.

Eight meditation buttons around the shell each play a track. The power button turns it on and off (hold 3 seconds), plays the sleep sounds, and pauses a meditation. The two volume buttons adjust sound. The moon button runs the nightlight and starts app pairing.

Press power to play relaxing music, ocean waves or white noise; short press again to switch. Each plays for 60 minutes, or keeps going while plugged in. In the app you can replace them with your own tracks.

Press the moon button to cycle off, high, medium and low. Pick the color in the app.

Hold both volume buttons for 3 seconds. A short vibration and flash confirm the lock. Do the same to unlock.

With the companion on and your phone's Bluetooth on, hold the moon button for 3 seconds. A spinning light means it's searching, for about 30 seconds; a vibration and sound confirm the connection. The companion keeps working while connected; only the nightlight turns off briefly.
