Zenimal exists to help children feel calm without a screen. That only matters if the people who need our products can actually reach them, so we treat accessibility as part of the product rather than an afterthought.
What we are working toward
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA, for zenimals.com. We are not fully there yet. We would rather say that plainly than claim otherwise.
What we are doing
We test zenimals.com against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using both automated tools and manual review, and we fix what we find. Work completed and underway includes:
- Adding text descriptions to images so screen readers can describe them
- Giving every link and control a clear, meaningful name
- Correcting text and button color contrast
- Reviewing keyboard navigation and focus order
This is ongoing work, and we will update this page as it progresses.
Our devices and app
The Zenimal itself is a screen free audio companion operated by physical buttons. It needs no screen, no app, and no reading to use, and a child can operate it independently. Zenimal Connect, the companion app, is used by parents and caregivers rather than children, and we are currently assessing it against Apple and Google accessibility guidance.
